Lavender 2

Hello friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! I’m going to talk about one of the most versatile oils in the Premium Starter Kit today – Lavender. If you haven’t ordered your Kit yet, you can do so here. Remember – you’ll get $300.00 worth of oils and products – including a diffuser! – and we will discuss all the products here, for $160.00. So you’ll have your starter set of oils and products, and you’ll know how to use them, and if you want you’ll have the beginning of a new business opportunity, all for $160.00! If you’ve been reading along and are on the fence about ordering your kit, ask me questions and let’s converse! I’m sure you’re not the only one that has questions! (I know I did before I purchased my kit!).

So let’s discuss Lavender! It takes 27 square feet of Lavender plants to create one 15ml bottle of essential Lavender oil. Amazing right? Here is a picture of one of Young Living’s Lavender farms in Mona, Utah:

How beautiful is that?  And with Young Living’s Seed to Seal process, you know you’re getting the purest oil possible!

Lavender oil has SO many uses! The first way I utilized it was through my diffuser at bedtime. It creates a very calm, relaxing atmosphere. However – let me tell you a little secret – a little bit goes a long way! So those of you looking at your little bottles and wondering how long they could possibly last? You only need a drop, maybe two, at a time in your diffuser. That little bottle could last you months! I found I slept much better with Lavender in the air.

I accidentally found a use for Lavender for my restless legs at night after a busy day. (I accidentally find a lot of uses for oils these days!) I was trying to place the Lavender in the diffuser one night and dropped the bottle. I tried to “catch” it with my leg (yeah – not sure why I thought my leg would magically become a catcher’s glove…) and the oil landed on my leg. I just rubbed it in and later noticed it had a calming effect on my restlessness. So now when I feel that need to constantly kick, I spray my Lavender spray (made with Lavender oil, water and witch hazel) on my legs and have a peaceful night’s sleep.

Lavender is sometimes used to lessen pain from headaches (although I use peppermint for this – remember everyone is different! What works for me or you may not work for everyone!), sprains and sore muscles, toothaches and even digestive distress. Therapeutic grade Lavender, such as Young Living’s oils, can be used topically. I generally use my oils neat, or without a carrier oil, but if you have sensitive skin, you should try the oils on a small area of skin first for testing.

Young Living also has a Vitality line of oils that are safe for ingestion! I haven’t tried these yet, but there is a recipe for Lavender Lemonade that everyone RAVES about! I’m very much looking forward to trying that!

I hope you’ll try out your Lavender oil and come back and let us know your own personal uses for it! Again, if you have any questions, let me know!

See you back here soon to try out our next oil!
