Slightly Off Topic Again – Peace and Calming

Peace and Calming

Hi Friends! I hope you all had a fantastic day! I’m taking a slight turn from our Premium Starter Kits today. I’m still talking about oils, but this one isn’t in your kit.

I want to discuss the Peace and Calming blend available at Young Living. This is another oil I watched my cousin use with her children prior to making the jump to the Premium Starter Kit. My cousin has a beautiful young son who is very strong willed (as his Mother is, and as most of my family is – as my Grandmother would say – he gets it honest). We were all together at our yearly beach trip when I saw my cousin first use Peace and Calming on her son at bedtime. I’ll admit – I had my doubts. But he went to bed and we didn’t hear from him until the next morning. Pretty impressive!

So after I bought my kit, and I signed up for Essential Rewards (in a nutshell – you place an order each month and you’re rewarded with free products! I’ll blog about this soon I promise!) and went to add Peace and Calming to my order – and it was out of stock. Noooo! So I patiently waited a month or so and promptly added it to my order when it came back in stock (it wasn’t long).

I’m going to be honest with you – I don’t really care for the smell. It’s very earthy, with a lot of “evergreen” in it. The oils to make this blend are Ylang Ylang, Orange, Tangerine, Patchouli and Blue Tansy. Even though it was disappointing when I opened the bottle, I was determined to try it. And it worked! I diffused it in my bedroom the first night and it did create a very calm, peaceful atmosphere. Similar to Lavender, but more serene and meditative so to speak. It was a very restful sleep that evening. My cousin later asked me what I thought of it, and I confessed I wasn’t crazy about the smell, but the oil did exactly what it promised. She told me if you don’t like the smell, that means you really need that particular oil. Go figure right?

My team, who are wonderful ladies and gentlemen, are so creative and inspiring with their uses of the oils. One of the ladies posted last week that she made home made play dough and put the Peace and Calming in the play dough! She was set up at a vendor event, and when parents approached her to talk about oils, their children could play with the play dough and experience Peace and Calming first hand (no pun intended). How wonderful would it be to have a day when you just need your child to be a bit calmer and you hand them play dough to use, infused with an oil that’s not toxic and actually good for them!

So if you don’t receive Peace and Calming in your Premium Starter Kit, how do you get it? Well I’m glad you asked!
